The Course
Psychological first aid (PFA) is about caring for a distressed person in a crisis situation by observing their reactions, listening, offering them practical help and linking them to the right point of care. PFA will give you the skills to respond to crises in a calm and practical manner.
How Does it Work?
The course has 4 modules that will be covered in 4 short weeks and will include course work, practical sessions and field visits. Our international and experienced counselling psychologists will facilitate the course.

Learning Objectives
• How to assess and respond to individuals in emotional or psychological distress.
• Techniques for active listening, offering practical help, and providing support during crises.
• Skills to help stabilize and calm individuals affected by trauma or emergencies.
• Connecting individuals to appropriate resources and professional care.
• Practical strategies for managing stress and staying composed during traumatic events.
• Hands-on experience through field visits and real-life case studies.
Requirements
- • Please complete the online form, ensuring all fields are filled in BLOCK LETTERS.
- • Attach the following documents: ID/Passport, High School certificate (or higher), and Certificate of Good Conduct.
- • Enter the MPESA transaction code or attach the bank slip as proof of payment for the KSH 1,000 application fee.
